Health and Human Services Commission

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is a government agency based in Austin, Texas. With approximately 12,800 employees, HHSC is responsible for managing public health and related matters for the state's large and growing population. HHSC directly administers Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and SNAP food benefits.
