About Roger Oberg
ROGER L. OBERG Restoration Engineering | Vice President Mr. Oberg is a Vice President for BKBM. His specialty is in the evaluation and restoration of existing concrete and masonry structures including parking ramps, plazas, and historic buildings. He has extensive experience working as a contractor performing restoration work. His responsibilities include managing projects involving restoration of structures, and project management on multi-discipline projects. Restoration services include evaluations, preparation of construction documents, testing, inspection, and construction administration for clients. He has extensive experience working with property management companies in the maintenance and restoration of facilities. The wall consists of reinforced concrete, brick, and stone. Performed construction administration and inspections during construction. St. John's University, Campus Assessment, Collegeville, MN - Project Manager for the complete assessment of the university campus buildings. MCF Stillwater Catwalks and Towers, Phase 2, Stillwater, MN - Project Manager for the completion of the exterior wall repairs, repair and restoration of the foundations for towers 3, 5 and 7 and the construction of a new wall supported catwalk on the outside of the wall. Project also includes the design and construction of a new asphalt road. Washburn-Crosby Mill Historical Building, Minneapolis, MN - Principal In Charge for investigation of a historical, fire damaged building. Work involves restoration and rehabilitation of the in-place walls including bracing and tuckpointing. St. Anthony Falls Heritage Center, Minneapolis, MN - Project Manager for the restoration and renovation of a historic mill complex. The new complex houses a 71,446 square foot Interpretive Center, and 62,500 square feet of commercial space. The building includes open and private offices, exhibit spaces, a museum store, classrooms and a cafeteria. St. John's Abbey Church Exterior Façade Restoration, Collegeville, MN - Project Manager for the restoration of the exterior façade. Restoration work included repair of exterior concrete members, 100% tuckpointing of granite facade, installation of weeps and ventilators in masonry façade, removal and replacement of sealants, and applications of a penetrating sealer to exposed concrete and granite façade. Colwell Building, Minneapolis, MN - Project Manager for the restoration of the exterior façade. Restoration work included repair of exterior distressed concrete members, removal and replacement of distressed brick masonry parapet wall, tuckpointing, removal and replacement of sealants, installation of new cap flashing, and application of a protective coating to exposed concrete and masonry façade. Dupre Hall Restoration at Macalester College, St. Paul, MN - Project Manager for evaluation and restoration of the four-story concrete and masonry-building envelope, including preparation of construction documents, and construction administration. Restoration work included concrete repairs, tuckpointing, caulking of building expansion joints and windows, and application of a protective coating on concrete surfaces. Wabasha Water Reservoir Restoration, Wabasha, MN - Project Manager for the evaluation and restoration of a concrete water reservoir constructed in the early 1900's. Evaluation of existing conditions on the interior of the reservoir was performed with divers while the system remained in service. Restoration included shotcrete repairs to distressed concrete areas, installation of a new roof membrane system and application of the epoxy coating system on the interior of the reservoir. IDS Center Parking Garage, Minneapolis, MN - Project Manager for evaluation and restoration of the 250,000 square foot underground parking garage, including preparation of construction documents, special inspections, and construction administration. Restoration work included repair of approximately 40,000 square feet of structural concrete slabs, 17,000 square feet of shotcrete on vertical and overhead structural members, installation of supplementary floor drains, and application of approximately 150,000 square feet of a traffic-bearing waterproof membrane system. City Center Parking Ramp, Minneapolis, MN - Project Manager for the evaluation and restoration of the parking ramp entry/exit ramps, including preparation of construction documents and construction administration. NFC Parking Ramp, Bloomington, MN (1990) - Project Manager for the evaluation and restoration of the 240,000 square foot post-tensioned parking deck, including preparation of construction documents and construction administration. Restoration work included replacement of corroded post-tension tendons and anchorages, repair of structural concrete slabs and columns, installation of expansion joint systems, and application of a penetrating concrete sealer. 2nd Street Parking Ramp, Rochester, MN - Project Manager for evaluation and restoration of the 100,000 square foot parking ramp, including preparation of construction documents, special inspections, and construction administration. The evaluation included performing a load test on the top two structural decks. Restoration work included repair of structural concrete slabs, beams, and columns, shotcrete repairs to vertical and overhead surfaces, installation of supplementary floor drains, epoxy injection repair of "hollow-plane" delamination between concrete overlay and structural slabs, repair of existing traffic bearing waterproof membrane system, application of a methacrylate concrete sealer on helix slabs, and application of a protective coating to all exterior concrete surfaces.
