Ms. Maureen McCarthy Daughton is a Partner in the Tallahassee office of Broad and Cassel. She is a member of the Firm's Commercial Litigation, Land Use and Environmental Law and Labor and Employment Practice Groups. * Ms. Daughton has significant experience in the areas of administrative law and Chapter 120 administrative litigation, specifically contesting unadopted rules and the rule development and adoption process. * Ms. Daughton also has extensive experience in litigation of bid disputes and other types of procurement involving various state agencies as well as local government entities. * Ms. Daughton has represented clients before the Division of Administrative Hearings, Department of Community Affairs, the Department of Financial Regulation, Office of Insurance Regulation, the Department of Transportation, Department of Elder Services and Department of Health. * Ms. Daughton also represents affordable housing developers in administrative matters before the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (the "Corporation"). Ms. Daughton formerly represented the Corporation as one of its special counsel. * She holds an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell (only 5 percent of attorneys are awarded this rating), a rating denoting the highest accolade an attorney can receive for her legal ability? and adherence to professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence. * Ms. Daughton has experience in employment defense, finance and tax, comprehensive plan and land use litigation, negligence, bankruptcy, receivership matters, procurement matters and sunshine law and public records. * Ms. Daughton has provided guidance to private employers regarding labor and employment practices and human resource issues. * Ms. Daughton has provided representation to private and public sector clients at trial and at the appellate level on a wide variety of issues. * Ms. Daughton served as an Assistant State Attorney with the Office of the State Attorney, Eighteenth Judicial Circuit for approximately four years where she gained invaluable trial experience in prosecuting abuse cases. * Ms. Daughton has experience litigating permit challenges and Transmission Line Siting Act matters.
