Mr. Gene Crick is a Partner in the Orlando office of Broad and Cassel. He is a member of the Firm's Corporate and Securities, Taxation and Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Practice Groups. * Mr. Crick began his career at Arthur Andersen as a Certified Public Accountant and tax accountant. Mr. Crick practiced in two law firms as a tax attorney before joining Broad and Cassel. * Mr. Crick handles income tax issues and transactional legal work with respect to New Market Tax Credit transactions, affordable housing and market rate rental housing for developers and investors and the buying and selling of entities or assets for various business clients. * He has represented large and complex interests, including affordable housing developers and condominium developers. * Mr. Crick primarily renders federal income tax advice for partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations and tax-exempt entities. One area in which he concentrates is Section 42 housing tax credits and Section 45 New Market Tax Credits. Mr. Crick is also knowledgeable in many non-profit and charitable matters. * Due to his expertise, he is frequently engaged to analyze and offer solutions to sophisticated income tax issues. In some cases, this results in submission of requests for private letter rulings from the IRS National Office. Mr. Crick has extensive experience representing clients in tax controversy matters before the IRS. To this end, he has represented primarily TEFRA partnerships and other business entities.
