Kan Chang is Executive Vice President of Urban Retail Asia, LLC based in Shanghai. He has more than 25 years experience in the planning and design of commercial real estate projects. Prior to joining Urban Asia, from 1994 to 2007, Mr. Chang co-owned an International restaurant chain with over 200 locations. His primary responsibilities were concept development, design and construction. From 1985-1988, Mr. Chang worked as an architect for ASD design firm in Tampa, Florida. He was responsible for a number of major design and development projects. From 1977 to 1981, Mr. Chang also owned a development company in Taipei, Taiwan. His company designed and constructed more than 20 stores and restaurants in major shopping districts throughout Taiwan. Mr. Chang is a graduate of the University of Chinese Culture, Taipei, Taiwan, where he received his bachelor of Architecture degree. He also received a Master Degree of Design from Florida State University. Mr. Chang is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
