About John Cluver
John H. Cluver, AIA, LEED AP received his professional degree in architecture from the University of Notre Dame and a Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania. He has worked on a wide range of rehabilitation projects for a variety of educational, commercial, and civic institutions in the Mid-Atlantic region, both as architect and preservation consultant. His preservation projects have included work at Yale University, Drexel University, Old Original Bookbinder's, and the Bryn Mawr Film Institute. John's projects have been published in Traditional Building magazine, and his original articles including No Substitute,? and a follow up article entitled Still No Substitute,? and most recently Energy Saving Answers,? have been published in Period Homes magazine. He has spoken at numerous conferences, focusing on the relationship between historic preservation and sustainable design practices, including presentations of The Low Cost, Low Maintenance Mirage? at the Traditional Building Conference and Saving Money While Saving Old Main? for the National Business Officers Association. John has been an adjunct professor at Moore College of Art and Design, and has presented at the Traditional Building Expo on multiple occasions. In 2006 John spent a week doing conditions assessments in New Orleans with the National Trust for Historic Preservation. John currently serves on the City of Philadelphia's Historical Commission Architectural Advisory Committee, and was named Young Architect of the Year by the Philadelphia Chapter of the AIA in 2008.
