Who is Vertical Flight Systems Purdue
Vertical Flight Systems Purdue is a student-led organization based in West Lafayette, Indiana. Comprised of forty members from various engineering and business majors, the organization was founded in 2017 with the goal of competing in Boeing's GoFly competition. After successfully completing phase one of the competition, the team opted to continue research and development with the support of Purdue University and the Purdue chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). The team focuses on designing, building, and testing an urban aerial transportation vehicle designed for single-user, medium-range travel. Their goal is to create a "last mile" transportation solution for urban environments. Vertical Flight Systems Purdue is actively involved in engaging and educating the next generation of engineers through hands-on experience in a rapidly growing field. The team operates under five sub-teams, each specializing in a different aspect of the project. They prioritize practical application and knowledge application, allowing members to contribute their expertise to a real-world challenge.
