American Research Institute of the South Caucasus ARISC

The American Research Institute of the South Caucasus (ARISC) is a research organization based in Bloomington, Minnesota, with a team of 20 to 49 employees. Established in 2006, ARISC is dedicated to fostering scholarly research on Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia across various disciplines, including the Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences. ARISC provides a suite of complimentary services to visiting scholars, designed to facilitate their research endeavors in the South Caucasus region. These services encompass logistical support, guidance on accommodation, information about local libraries and archives, assistance with translation, and introductions to relevant institutions and scholars. ARISC also actively organizes lectures, workshops, reading groups, and writing groups, bringing together visiting scholars and local academic communities. The organization's free services are made possible through a grant from the US Department of Education, private donations, and the support of its members.
