Utah County Sheriffs Communication Auxillary Team

The Utah County Sheriff's Communication Auxillary Team (SCATeam) is a non-profit volunteer organization operating within the United States. The organization consists of approximately 40 amateur radio operators. SCATeam provides communication support to various emergencies and public events. Working as a subsidiary of the Utah County Sheriff's Office, they offer assistance during situations like wildland fires, floods, landslides, searches and rescues, mountain rescues, chemical spills, and public events. They maintain connections with Emergency Operations Centers throughout the county. As part of their commitment, SCATeam members receive training in Public Service Ecomm, ICS, and NIMS. SCATeam operates under the directives of the Sheriff's Office and, if necessary, team members, after obtaining permission from their employers, may dedicate vacation or leave time to fulfill these requests.
