USO

The USO is a congressionally chartered, private organization based in Washington, DC. With over 1,147 employees, the USO is dedicated to supporting the well-being of America's military service members and their families. The organization has a rich history, dating back to 1941, with a mission to keep service members connected to family, home, and country throughout their service. The USO provides a wide range of programs and entertainment to U.S. Active, Reserve, and Guard service members and their families. These services are offered through more than 250 USO centers located at or near military installations, including combat zones, MEPS centers, airports, and even remote locations accessible only to combat troops. The USO relies heavily on the support of volunteers, with over 30,000 individuals contributing their time and energy to the organization's mission. Public donations, corporate sponsorships, and individual contributions fuel the USO's operations, enabling it to provide essential services to those who serve.
