Laboratory for Innovation Science at Harvard

The Laboratory for Innovation Science at Harvard (LISH) is a research program based in Boston, Massachusetts. It is a Harvard-wide initiative with a team of nine employees. LISH focuses on advancing the understanding of innovation through research and practical solutions to real-world challenges. Their research efforts span three main tracks: Incentives & Governance, Creativity & Problem-Solving, and Organization & Processes. These tracks are applied within five key areas: Crowdsourcing & Open Innovation, Data Science & AI Development, Science of Science, Managing R&D Labs & Organizations, and Technology Translation. LISH collaborates with partners from both academia and industry to conduct its research. The program is led by faculty co-directors Karim Lakhani from Harvard Business School, Eva Guinan from Harvard Medical School, and David Parkes from Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
