Laboratorio de Sueño y Memoria is a research lab based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Founded in 2016 by Dr. Cecilia Forcato, who also serves as Head of the Lab, the organization relocated to the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA) in 2019. With a small team of five employees, the lab has secured funding from various national and international sources, including the IBRO, DAAD, and Templeton Foundation/Duke University. The Sleep and Memory Lab conducts research across a range of topics related to sleep, memory, and consciousness. Their areas of study encompass memory improvement and modification during both sleep and wakefulness, sleep quality restoration in both healthy and pathological populations, false memory formation, lucid dreaming, out-of-body experiences, and sleep paralysis.
