China Aerospace Studies Institute

The China Aerospace Studies Institute (CASI) is a research organization headquartered in Washington, DC. Comprised of a team of five employees, CASI focuses on providing insights into the capabilities, operational strategies, and limitations of China's aerospace forces. CASI's research encompasses the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), Naval Aviation, Rocket Force, and space assets. The institute aims to deliver high-quality, unclassified research on the development of Chinese aerospace capabilities within the context of U.S. strategic interests in the Asia-Pacific region. CASI was established at the direction of the Director, Strategy, Concepts, and Assessments, Headquarters of the United States Air Force (USAF). This unique initiative seeks to address a gap in the existing research landscape by offering in-depth, unclassified analyses of Chinese aerospace advancements.
