Brown University Climate and Development Lab

Brown University’s Climate and Development Lab (CDL) is a think tank based in Providence, Rhode Island. Founded in 2010, the CDL is a research institution focused on climate change policy. With a team of four employees, the CDL conducts research and produces content aimed at informing more effective and equitable climate change policies. The CDL's research focuses on climate finance, equity, justice, and the impacts of climate change on Least Developed Countries, small island developing states, Latin America, and the United States. They collaborate with governments, non-governmental organizations, and media outlets globally. Their work encompasses academic papers, policy briefs, op-eds, blogs, and events, including participation in United Nations climate negotiations. A key aspect of the CDL's mission is fostering transformative learning experiences for Brown University students. Through participation in the CDL, students gain valuable skills in writing, research, and social media, while contributing to impactful research and outreach initiatives.
