Brazos Electric

Brazos Electric is a cooperative based in Waco, Texas. It is a member-owned electric generation and transmission cooperative with a service territory spanning 68 counties across Texas, from the Texas Panhandle to Houston. The cooperative employs 20 people. Brazos Electric provides wholesale power to its 16 member distribution cooperatives, which in turn serve over 1.6 million customers across the state. The cooperative's mission is to provide reliable and affordable electricity to its members and their customers. Brazos Electric was the first cooperative formed in Texas for the purpose of generating and supplying electrical power. Today, it is the largest generation and transmission cooperative in the state. The cooperative's board of directors is comprised of one representative from each of its 16 member cooperatives.
