Boyertown Lions Community Ambulance Service Inc. is a Pennsylvania-based emergency medical service. Founded in 1941 by the Boyertown Lions Club, the organization operates out of a single station in Boyertown, housing three ambulances and employing four people. The Boyertown Community Ambulance Service is an Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider, offering primary emergency medical coverage for Boyertown Borough, Colebrookdale Township, and portions of Earl and Douglass Townships. They also provide mutual aid to surrounding ambulance services in several neighboring townships. In addition to emergency response, the service offers a range of community outreach programs. These include CPR and First Aid training, a community AED program, car seat checks, opioid/overdose education, stroke and heart attack awareness, blood pressure screenings, and a free medical equipment loaner program. Boyertown Ambulance stands out for its commitment to education and training. They provide on-site EMS education and have an active mentorship/precepting program in partnership with hospitals and educational institutions. Furthermore, they host a Venture Crew Post for 14 to 21 year olds, offering opportunities for young people to learn about and become certified in the EMS field. Their dedication to pediatric care is evidenced by their recognition by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as having achieved the Expert Level in the Pediatric Recognition program.
