Dr. E. Wayne Holden is executive vice president of Social, Statistical and Environmental Sciences (SSES). In this capacity, he oversees the largest unit at RTI with annual revenues of approximately $340 million and 1,400 employees. SSES conducts projects that involve large-scale data collection and management with an emphasis on applying complex methodological, statistical, and epidemiological approaches to important public policy issues in health, environment, education, economics, public policy, and social welfare. He received his Ph.D. in clinical/community psychology from the University of South Carolina. He also completed training in biostatistics, epidemiology, and public health at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. He holds an appointment as a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Holden has authored more than 130 articles, books, or book chapters on various topics in health services research. He joined RTI in 2005 following seven years at ORC Macro, a private, for-profit research consulting firm. He was president of ORC Macro from 2003 to 2005 and a senior vice president at Opinion Research Corporation.
