As Director of Development, Ms. Watts oversees all of the Brennan Center for Justice's fundraising strategies. Ms. Watts returned to the Brennan Center in December 2009, having served as Associate Director of Development and Manager of Foundation Relations from 2002 to 2005. In the interim, she was the Senior Director of Organizational Development for the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience, a network of historic sites dedicated to remembering past struggles for justice and addressing their contemporary legacies. There, she created and implemented a comprehensive fundraising and board development strategy, helping to transform a start-up project into a fully-staffed international organization with extensive regional projects at member sites around the world. As Director of Special Projects in her final year at the Coalition, she was based in Paris, where she expanded the organization's European operations. Ms. Watts has also served as Assistant Director of Development for New York University Faculty of Arts and Science, and Field Office Director for the State Public Interest Research Groups (PIRG). She received her B.A. with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. in history from New York University.
