Ms. Crisp's varied general civil litigation practice emphasizes real estate litigation, including the prosecution and defense of complex commercial lease disputes. Ms. Crisp also brings substantial experience to the prosecution and defense of will contests and other probate and trust litigation matters. She also has extensive experience representing utility and cable franchisees in disputes with municipalities. Real Estate Ms. Crisp represents both landlords and tenants of office and retail facilities in rent, unlawful detainer, and other landlord-tenant disputes. She also represents clients in a wide variety of real estate-related litigation, including cases arising from easement, land use, and breach of contract disputes. Probate and Trust Ms. Crisp has substantial experience representing high-net-worth individuals in will contests, trust disputes, and in contests for control of closely held businesses. In these sensitive and often emotion-laden cases, Ms. Crisp works closely with her clients to ensure that their goals are achieved as efficiently, privately, and effectively as possible. Franchise Disputes Ms. Crisp frequently handles cases involving disputes between utility and cable franchisees and municipalities. Recent representative matters have included the representation of Pacific Gas and Electric in disputes with municipalities over a variety of franchise requirements and the representation of PG&E and AT&T in actions challenging the constitutionality of certain municipal ordinances. General Business Ms. Crisp defends business clients in high-stakes business litigation, including unfair competition claims, consumer class actions, and breach of contract actions. Education Ms. Crisp graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois. After teaching for two years, she attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, San Francisco, where she earned her law degree in 1985. While at Hastings, Ms. Crisp was the executive editor of Hastings Law Journal; and was elected to the Order of the Coif and the Thurston Society. Professional Activities Ms. Crisp is a member of the American Bar Association, the California State Bar, the Litigation Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a law clerk for Judge Eugene F. Lynch of the United States District Court of Northern California.
