Tim Schmidt brings more than 18 years of healthcare and management experience to Laredo Medical Center. Most recently, he served as CEO at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill. During his five years there, Schmidt worked to enhance and expand the hospital's services, develop strong medical staff relations and build the hospital's reputation by focusing on quality and customer service. Prior to his position at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Schmidt served as CEO of Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring, Texas and as a hospital administrator at facilities in New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana. From 1982 to 1990, Schmidt served in the United States Navy Supply Corps where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal. Schmidt's professional affiliations and community service include serving as past president of the Northeast District of the Louisiana Hospital Association, former member of the board of the Deming/Luna County Chamber of Commerce and the Marion Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the advisory board for Wells Fargo Bank. Schmidt also has been active in Rotary International and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Tim Schmidt was born and raised in Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science degree in Health Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He and his wife, Caren, have three children.
