T. William McGee, III is a member of the Business Litigation Group of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP and practices in the areas of lender liability, banking fraud, construction litigation, and franchise and distribution litigation. A member of the South Carolina Bar, Mr. McGee is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute (Steering Committee, Lawyers Professionalism and Ethics Committee), and the Richland County Bar Association. Mr. McGee has been an elected member of the Fifth Circuit House of Delegates and served as chair of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division New Admittee Committee. Mr. McGee recently authored The South Carolina Chapter of The Defense Research Institutes 50-State Compendium on Unfair Trade Practices Acts and co-authored the South Carolina chapter of a compendium on agreements not to compete. He is AV peer review rated by Martindale Hubbell. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. McGee was associated with another prominent South Carolina firm. Following graduation from law school, Mr. McGee served as a law clerk for Judge M. Duane Shuler of the South Carolina Third Judicial Circuit. Mr. McGee earned a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1996. During law school he was publications editor of South Carolina Environmental Law Journal. Mr. McGee earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clemson University in 1992.
