Su started her career in advertising and public relations after graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Denver in 1967. After a two-year stint with local ad agency Mark Schreiber & Associates (who then handled the FirstBank account), she honed her marketing skills at agencies in San Diego, Pensacola and Norfolk, following her husband Jerome who had joined the Navy during the Viet Nam War. Later, they freelanced in photojournalism for major industrial clients around the country and in South America before returning to Denver in 1974. Together, they founded Ryden & Associates in 1975. Over the years, Su has acquired a understanding of the creative process and communications theory, which she applies to the practical issues clients face in today's competitive environment. She works collaboratively with clients to create award-winning, impactful messaging that translates into increased sales and awareness of the client's product or service. Su has used her marketing skills to advocate for a number of worthy causes during her career, including the Colorado Kids 1st license plate campaign, the soberRide anti-drunk driving campaign, and the Colorado Ethics in Business Alliance annual awards event. A member of the Rotary Club of Denver, she serves on the Denver Rotary Club Foundation Board. She is also a member of the Aurora Historic Preservation Commission, the Leadership Aurora Board and the Aurora Fox Arts Center Board. Su and Jerome received the Randolph P. McDonough Award for service to DU alumni in 2004. Su was honored with the Aurora Chamber's Women in Business Unsung Hero? Award for service to the community in 2005. That same year, she received the coveted Elizabeth Johnson Award for contributions to historic preservation in Aurora.
