When I came over from the client side, I was intent on creating a branding firm like no other - the kind that I had longed to work with as a client. My goal was to blend uncommon strategic depth with breakthrough creative. I quickly learned that this also meant tearing down the walls endemic to the industry and building true cross-functional collaboration. Well, that was over 20 years ago and I'm proud to say that the experiment continues to thrive. It's tremendously rewarding to constantly learn from such a talented group of people. And being aligned with our clients' values to create positive change in the world engenders real passion in our clients' success. We want to drive demand in their brands because we believe in the brands themselves. Many firms regard themselves as mercenaries that help clients sell anything. To me, that's the problem with the professional services industry. But the people at Addis Creson come to work every day because they care about what we and our clients do. I also serve on the boards of two nonprofits: MAPLight.org and the UC Berkeley Museum of Art & Pacific Film Archive. I advise companies such as Joie de Vivre Hotels, Threadsy, and TPG Growth. I helped launch Popchips and collaborate with my partners there from time to time. And my indulgences are the TED Conference and the Telluride Film Festival -- never miss a year of either!
