Steve is a co-founder and Partner at Excella Consulting. He has over 22 years experience in technology consulting, specializing in application development and database technology. His technical expertise spans technologies from the mainframe to client/server to the Internet. He possesses industry expertise in telecommunications, hospitality, federal government, law enforcement, and manufacturing. Steve's corporate role within Excella is focused on human resources and personnel development. Steve's philosophy is to enable employees to find their passion to do great work. He has developed much of the firm's cultural and professional development materials, including Excella University. Steve's approach to building and running Excella's back-office operations is that it should support and enable the firm's elite consulting services, and not become an administrative entity serving itself. Prior to forming Excella, Steve co-founded Perspective Technology Corporation as an ultra high-quality, DC-based IT consulting firm. During the firm's first eight years, Steve was personally involved with each of the firm's clients, while the firm grew to over $11 million in revenue. In addition to his client focus, Steve was responsible for building and growing many corporate areas, including professional development, human resources, and business development. Throughout his Perspective career, he also served as a member of the firm's executive management team. Steve started his IT career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and served as a member of its technical support team at multiple clients. He was one of the first Andersen consultants to become a relational database expert in the early days of DB2. Steve is a cum laude graduate of Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics, with minors in business administration and music.
