Business Accomplishments As a highly experienced tax professional and lawyer, Scott Grimes, has spent twenty-nine years advising and advocating the interests of central Ohio businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Grimes has received national recognition for his work in the areas of tax law, income tax planning, research and compliance. He also has extensive experience in estate and gift tax planning for individuals. Grimes holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Wittenberg University and a Juris Doctorate from the UCLA School of Law. Grimes has been with Norman Jones Enlow & Co. since 1985. Since 1990 he has directed its tax functions. Prior to joining Norman Jones Enlow & Co., Grimes served as Tax Manager for Deloitte & Touche, one of the nation's largest accounting firms. Grimes also has taught taxation and auditing classes at Ohio Wesleyan University. Recognitions and Affiliations Throughout his career, Grimes has been active in publishing articles in a variety of state and national tax magazines and journals such as the Journal of Accountancy, Taxation for Lawyers and the Ohio CPA Journal. He served on the Tax Practice Committee of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is a past president of the Tax Club of the Columbus chapter for this organization. Grimes also retains memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Columbus Bar Association. Community Involvement Grimes makes a point of playing an active role within the central Ohio community, serving as Treasurer of the Worthington Estate Planning Council. He is also the Treasurer of the Friends of the Arts in Upper Arlington and is a past President. He serves on the Upper Arlington Neighborhood Lighting Utility and is past chairperson. He is on the Board of Directors of the Columbus Speech and Hearing Center and a member of its Finance and Development Committee. He has also participated in the Loaned Executive to Business Jobs for Youth Program of the Employment and Education Commission of Franklin County.
