Ruth Mugalian's Email & Phone

Ruth Mugalian, one of the firm's three principals, joined Public Communications Inc. in 1984 after a career as a reporter, feature writer and editor for a daily newspaper. Ruth directs PCI's 20-person media group and specializes in spokesperson training, media relations, issues management and crisis communications. Much of Ruth's work is with not-for-profit and corporate clients in the health care arena. She has worked with numerous physician and dentist associations in specialties including asthma and allergies, dermatology, endodontics, heart rhythm disorders and physical medicine and rehabilitation. She has managed a number of health screening and education campaigns, annual meeting newsrooms, member communication projects and branding initiatives. On the corporate side, Ruth has managed product launches, issues management and other communications programs, and has worked with a number of hospital clients. Outside of health care, Ruth has worked with schools and education associations, government agencies and religious orders and dioceses. Prior to joining PCI, Ruth was a feature writer responsible for a weekly section at The Daily Herald in Arlington Heights, Ill., where she also worked as a municipal reporter covering breaking news. She has written on topics ranging from fashion to medicine. Ruth majored in English at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She earned a Master of Science degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University.
