Roland is the Managing Principal of the Minneapolis office. He has been a member of the firm since 1988 and has proven to be an exceptional leader of the multi-disciplinary teams that address highly complex projects. His training as a landscape architect, planner, and architect, together with his hard-won experience in successful government approvals processes, has given him an unusual breadth of understanding of natural environments and communities. At the same time, he is an excellent planner and sensitive designer whose work is tested and proven in the marketplace. This includes planning, design and new community development at Gateway Valley in the East Hills of San Francisco Bay, Santa Lucia Preserve in Monterey, Rancho La Quinta in southern California; the Honeywell family estate on Lake Minnetonka, MN; urban design and master planning for the Mississippi riverfront in downtown St. Paul, MN; the San Juan River and Bootjack Ranch in Pagosa Springs Colorado; as well as new town planning for the City of Minnetonka, MN, and Reno, Nevada.
