Roger Williams leads our defined contribution research efforts, assisting clients to design their 401(k) investment programs and identifying defined contribution service providers. He also leads a team of professionals that provides consulting services to a limited number of corporate and public pension plans, endowment funds, and financial advisors. He works together with the client to build the foundations for successful investment programsa common understanding of the needs of the fund, a careful design of the investment structure, and close attention to manager selection and monitoring. Roger is the Chair of our Fiduciary Investment Review Committee, which provides oversight for our fully discretionary relationships, and the Chair of our Defined Contribution Practices Committee, which is responsible for the firm's focus on client defined contribution program success and giving fiduciary guidance in a changing regulatory environment. Roger has 26 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to joining the firm in 1998, he worked at Olin Corporation as the Director of Pension Investments. His responsibilities included investment strategy development, manager selection, and portfolio monitoring. Prior to that Roger held several positions at GTE Investment Management Corporation, the most recent being Senior Research Manager. He also gained experience as Manager Pension Investments at Chesebrough-Ponds and Stauffer Chemical Company. Roger was an active member and past president of Pension Group East, a trade organization of pension plan, endowment, and foundation sponsors. Roger graduated with a B.S. in Finance from Bryant College and a M.B.A. from Pace University. He is a holder of the CFA Institute's Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
