Mr. Skillen has over twenty-five years of experience in commercial and defense manufacturing and construction positions. Mr. Skillen earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, and has broad technical experience in aircraft design and composite aircraft manufacturing. He is also a former F-14 carrier aviator. Mr. Skillen designed, prototyped and manufactured many aerospace parts and assemblies. These included advanced composite aero-structural components, aircraft fasteners specially designed as inserts/connectors for composite panels, and composite control surfaces. He is well versed in a wide range of composite manufacturing processes, including prepreg laminating, vacuum infusion and resin transfer molding.
