Robert P. Crumpler, Jr. represents clients in the areas of trial and appellate law. He practices in both Texas and New Mexico state and federal courts. Rob's practice predominantly involves representing clients in litigation arising out of disputes in the oil and gas industry. The litigation matters on which he works arise from the countless number of written agreements through which the industry transacts business, including leases, assignments, farm-outs, joint operating agreements, master service agreements, drilling contracts, purchase and sale agreements, surface agreements, and the many other types of agreements that govern all facets of the production of oil and gas. Further, Rob's heavily focused oil and gas industry practice has led him to litigate a number of cases falling under the regulatory framework governing the industry. In addition, over the last several years, Rob's practice has included a significant number of intellectual property matters involving trade secrets, as well as covenants not to compete. Aside from representing clients working in the oil and gas industry, Rob has been retained by a significant number of companies whose businesses include equipment manufacturing, construction, consumer services, and financial services. Rob's clientele includes several Fortune 500 companies, smaller publicly traded companies, privately held companies, and individuals. When working with his clients, Rob's approach to litigation is focused and pragmatic. He helps his clients to consider the litigation in the context of the client's overall business plan. From there, he works with each client to design a litigation strategy for reaching a positive result that takes into account not only the strengths and weaknesses of the legal aspects of the case, but also the client's overall business goals with respect to the litigation. Rob joined DGC Law in 1998 after having worked in Dallas at Thompson & Knight, P.C., where he began his career primarily working on complex commercial litigation matters, a significant percentage of which focused on the oil and gas industry.
