Robert Berezin is a litigation partner in Weil's New York office and serves as trial counsel for clients in complex, high stakes commercial litigation. Mr. Berezin has successfully represented clients in an array of significant contractual disputes, licensing-related litigation, antitrust, business torts and civil RICO cases, consumer class actions, and trade secret, copyright and patent litigation. Mr. Berezin also has litigated a variety of cases involving technology, including Internet commerce and services, digital camera technology, biometrics, video surveillance, security systems and associated networks, and semiconductors. Mr. Berezin partners with his clients to fully and efficiently achieve their objectives. By working closely with his clients, Mr. Berezin has obtained favorable outcomes at nearly every stage of litigation. He has secured, for example, summary judgment in favor of CBS and AOL in a patent litigation dispute, in favor of American Airlines in consumer class actions and business tort cases, and in favor of United Health Group in a major nationwide class action. Likewise, Mr. Berezin's recent trial successes include a bench trial for Samsung Electronics involving breach of most favored licensee provisions, and an arbitration for Lehman Brothers in which he secured a complete victory (including an award of attorneys' fees) in a case involving alleged breaches of contract and fiduciary duty. Mr. Berezin also has had the opportunity to represent emerging to mid-size companies in cases that were material to their continued success. In close cooperation with these clients, Mr. Berezin successfully litigated the disputes to achieve favorable settlements or prevail at trial. Mr. Berezin graduated from the Law School at the University of Chicago and obtained a B.A. with honors from the University of Missouri. Mr. Berezin is admitted to practice in New York and Florida, and in several United States District Courts.
