Mr. Lee is a nationally recognized leader in the field of indoor environmental air quality, building inspection and infrared/acoustic detection as it relates to its use in the areas of energy, air quality, building safety and wood-destroying insects. As Chief Science Officer he will provide ESP and its Division's scientific leadership and expertise in research and development; and evaluate and set scientific priorities for new and emerging products and business opportunities. Lee comes to ESP from HomeSafe Home Services where he co-founded the company which is recognized as the nation's pioneer in the utilization of infrared for home inspections, air quality and energy assessments, and termite detection. While at HomeSafe, Lee developed six patents and has three more pending related to infrared and acoustic building inspections, termite detections, energy and indoor air quality inspections. Prior to co-founding HomeSafe Lee served as an Applied Researcher at the University of Mississippi's National Center for Physical Acoustics for 11 years. Lee designed various highly advanced acoustical systems for the detection of insect infestations. In this capacity he was recruited to assist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Operation Full Stop? a project aimed at combating imported Formosan subterranean termite infestations in New Orleans? French Quarter district. Lee has published and presented numerous research papers including in-depth research on a variety of insect behaviors and acoustic alteration of insect behavior. He has consulted for various governmental groups, departments and agencies including NASA, World Bank/China EPA, USDA, United States Custom Service, United States Forest Service and USAID. Mr. Lee's expertise has also been utilized by leading corporations including Whirlpool, Oreck & Regina Vacuum Cleaner, Inc. and Emerson Electric Company, Inc. among others. Lee holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Science in Computer and Information Science. He is a licensed Home Inspector, ASHRAE Energy Auditor and Trainer, a BPI Energy Audit Trainer, a licensed pest control operator, and a Certified Indoor Environmentalist. He holds membership in the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing; Indoor Air Quality Association; Entomological Society of America; National Association of Mold Professionals and is a USAID Technical Review Board Member and was appointed by the Governor of Mississippi to serve on the Mississippi Home Inspection Board of which he recently served as president.
