Paul E. Brown is a Managing Director at Prime Policy Group who has been with the firm and its predecessor, BKSH & Associates, since 2002. Paul has more than 20 years of public affairs experience, including expertise in Senate procedure and a wide range of policy issues gained from his work in the U.S. Senate Democratic leadership and his service in state government. Prior to joining the firm, Paul served as a Principal at a major Washington, D.C. public affairs consulting firm. Before that, he served as floor assistant to former Senate Democratic Leader Thomas Daschle (D-SD). He also previously served as a domestic policy advisor to the Senate Democratic Policy Committee. His work on the Policy Committee included building successful coalitions to protect government investments in technology research and development. Paul also served as an advisor to Senator Daschle on labor, technology and campaign finance issues and advised Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) on issues studied by the Senator's Working Group on High Wage Jobs. In Senator Daschle's 1992 re-election campaign, Paul served as an issues director, designing and implementing candidate and opposition research strategies and briefing the Senator prior to candidate debates. Before moving to the national political scene, Paul served Texas Governor Ann Richards as an assistant on her transition team, and then as a legislative analyst in her Economic Development and International Trade Office. He also worked a legislative analyst in the Maryland Governor's Office of Federal Relations. Paul began his career as a research assistant and news service writer for Congressional Quarterly. In that position, he wrote and edited copy for the publication's weekly news service, Key Votes This Week,? and was a contributing writer for Politics in America, 1990. Paul holds a Master's degree in Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, cum laude, from Kenyon College. He has also studied at Georgetown University. Paul resides in Takoma Park, Maryland with his wife Marnie and their three children.
