Max has over 30 years of entrepreneurial experience in manufacturing, engineering and design starting with Durney Brothers, a general contracting and design firm he founded in 1974. In 1981 he went on to co-found Castle, Inc. a manufacturer of automated woodworking machinery. He then co-founded Limited Production, Inc., a manufacturer of custom commercial fixtures and furniture for clients that included Apple, Sun, Silicon Graphics and Oracle, in 1986. Returning to Castle in 1991, Max improved the manufacturing process while reducing costs and expanding the customer base. Max holds a number of patents issued prior to 1999 when he developed the initial ideas for precision fold technology. These ideas, which include edge to face engagement, became the basis for the Industrial Origami Solution. Industrial Origami, Inc. (IOI®) was incorporated in 2002, after the issuance of the first Industrial Origami method patent. Industrial Origami has numerous additional patents issued and pending relating to the Industrial Origami Technology which are the result of Max's ongoing development program. Max studied at the University of California at Davis.
