Marvin is the Founder and CEO of Barge Consulting, LLC. The firm services the financial securities industries on regulatory and compliance matters. Marvin has consulted with hundreds of firms across the country on how to better prepare for SEC examinations. He conducts seminars throughout the country on becoming compliant with performance advertising and federal and state securities laws. Marvin served as Director of Compliance Consulting for Ashland Accounting. In this capacity, he consulted primarily with money managers institutional and performance verification. Marvin served as V.P./Director of Consulting for the New Millennium Adviser Group, LLC. In this capacity, he consulted with firms in the securities industry o n various issues ranging from compliance to marketing. He also served as Chief Compliance Officer of G.W. Henssler & Associates, LTD and all its related companies, including Henssler Asset Management, LLC. and The Henssler Equity Fund. He was responsible for the compliance environment of all Henssler entities as they relate to the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, The Investment Company Act of 1940, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). Before joining G.W. Henssler & Associates, Marvin worked with investment advisers and mutual funds as Vice President of Consulting Services for Securities Consultants International, LLC based in Boca Raton, Florida. His experience in the business began from working as a compliance examiner, and later as a staff accountant, for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. From SEC's Atlanta District Office, he conducted on-site examinations of investment advisers, investment companies, broker-dealers and various other financial securities firms. Marvin has been a frequent speaker at various industry conferences including NASP-NY Trustee Educational Seminar, Sungard Users Network, IMN Frank Fabozzi Performance Conference, Progress Investment Management Conference, Triad Investment Adviser Conference, IMN Equities Summit, and Securities Consultants International Compliance Workshop. Marvin earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Tuskegee University and a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University in Atlanta. He is a member of The Investment Management Consultants Association, The National Society of Compliance Professionals, National Association of Securities Professionals, and various civic organizations in metro Atlanta
