Marc Z. Samotny is a partner in the Corporate, Finance, Securities and Tax Law Practice Groups. He focuses his practice in the areas of business and corporate law, strategic alliances, real estate, private placements, estate planning, federal, state and international taxation, partnership law and limited liability company law. Mr. Samotny was born in Chicago, Illinois . He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University (B.S., 1971) and The John Marshall Law School (J.D., with distinction, 1975). He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1975 and the Bar of the U.S. Tax Court in 1977 and is a registered Certified Public Accountant in Illinois. Mr. Samotny served as an Adjunct Professor of Law for John Marshall Law School during the years of 1984-1987. Mr. Samotny is a member of the Chicago, Illinois and American (Taxation Section) Bar Associations.
