Marc James Ayers is a member of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP's Appellate Litigation Group. He represents individual, corporate and governmental clients before state and federal appellate and trial courts. Marc has handled numerous appeals in the U.S. Courts of Appeals, the Alabama Supreme Court, the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, and other state appellate courts. He has also represented clients on petitions for certiorari and amicus curiae briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court. From 2008-2010, Marc served as Chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the Alabama State Bar. EXPERIENCE Marc has handled numerous appeals in various jurisdictions, but has an extensive background in and focus on Alabama's appellate system. He has particular experience in cases involving constitutional litigation, civil rights, arbitration, statutory construction, discovery matters, taxation and issues relating to punitive damages awards. Marc is also heavily involved in debates on important matters of public policy, and has been called on to file amicus curiae briefs in the United States Supreme Court and other courts on such matters as the impact of private gun ownership under the Second Amendment, constitutional standards of judicial recusal, and others.
