As a product of nature and nurture, Liz developed her passion for the business thanks in part to her grandfather and great-aunt who blazed the trail in the early 20th Century as both reporters and PR practitioners. Liz's background includes television news, corporate brand and marketing public relations. She began her career as a TV news reporter, producer, and anchor for NBC and CBS affiliates in Illinois and Iowa. In 1992, she became the employee magazine editor at Des Moines, Iowa-based Meredith Corporation. After holding positions in public relations, freelance writing and advertising account management; she produced a nationally televised PBS show on historic home renovation. Most recently, Liz held the marketing/brand manager position at the largest women-led insurer in America, Royal Neighbors of America.
