Ms. Simmons joined the Carroll Hospital Center team in October 2000, as Vice President of Patient Care Services and shortly thereafter became the Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services. She has 23 years of experience as a nurse, much of which was obtained in critical care and emergency medicine, and 18 years progressive management experience. She earned her Associate degree in Nursing from Anne Arundel Community College & both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing & Master of Management Administration from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. Ms. Simmons serves as the President of the Maryland Organization of Nurse Executives and is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She is the Chair of the Maryland Hospital Association's Nursing Faculty Shortage Taskforce and Vice Chair of the Maryland Hospital Association's Clinical and Quality Council. Ms. Simmons also served a five-year term as Commissioner on the Governor's Taskforce for the Nursing Commission.
