Kristen honed her communication skills and powers of persuasion in the trenches of the state and federal court system representing defendants in criminal cases and plaintiffs in civil rights litigation. Her tireless written and oral advocacy on behalf of her clients and her uncanny ability to deliver the right message to the right audience at the right time through the right channel, changed minds and consistently achieved outstanding results. Her work ethic and genuine concern for her clients enabled her to form lasting relationships and build a successful practice based exclusively on positive word of mouth. Kristen earned praise from her clients and colleagues for her tenacity and heart some of whom affectionately referred to her as -- small, but scrappy. She brings the same integrity and high standards to the solutions she provides to 3 Birds? clients. PEDIGREE Kristen graduated from Trinity College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies. Kristen then earned her J.D. from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley. She began her career as a lawyer working at the office of legendary criminal defense attorney, J. Tony Serra. Kristen went on to form the law office of Bustamante, Gilg, Rahn, Judd, Schultz and Meier in 2005. Kristen and her colleagues earned the respect of prosecutors and the bench and contributed to shaping the body of law in their areas of concentration, including creating a new federal civil cause of action. Kristen practiced law until she co-founded 3 Birds. Now she keeps her oral advocacy and lawyering skills sharp by arguing with Layton. She remains a member of the California Bar.
