Karen Morrison, president of the OhioHealth Foundation and senior vice president, External Affairs, has been with OhioHealth for 20 years. Ms. Morrison is a hospital administrator and executive lobbyist leading the corporate strategy for external relations, including community relations, community outreach and government relations. In her role as Foundation president, Ms. Morrison works with the Foundation executive committee, utilizing her extensive network of community relationships to advance the philanthropic mission of the Foundation. OhioHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. It consists of 17 hospitals and ambulatory centers and generates $1.8 billion in net patient revenues, encompassing more than 15,000 employees and 2,600 physicians. Ms. Morrison completed her undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee; her graduate degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health and she earned the juris doctor (J.D.) from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. A 25-year member of The Links, Incorporated, Columbus, Ohio, Chapter, Ms. Morrison was recently appointed to the national governance board for the organization. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Public Affairs Council, the American Public Health Association and Delta Sigma Theta. Ms. Morrison is a member of the Board of Trustees for Capital University, the YWCA, The Center for Healthy Families and Access HealthColumbus. In 2007 she was appointed by Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman to chair the 2012 Bicentennial Commission Health Care Task Force. In 2008 she was appointed by Mayor Coleman to serve on the Board of Health for the City of Columbus. She is married to Gregory E. Morrison, MD, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and they have two daughters, Sarah and Blaire.
