John, an Amarillo, TX native, attended high school in Virginia at Woodberry Forest School. He returned to Amarillo in 1998 to attend Amarillo College. John began working for EnergyNet shortly after the company's inception in 1999 as a technical consultant and joined the company full-time later that year as IT Director. He has participated in nearly every aspect of software development at the company since that time, particularly including the continued deployment of Linux throughout the company's systems and the development of EnergyNet's data package system. Serving on a technical staff of only three people in a fast-growing company affords a constant stream of new challenges in order to ensure EnergyNet's software and hardware systems operate smoothly for customers and staff even as the systems themselves grow and change. John brings to EnergyNet 7 years of software engineering, system administration and network management experience. He has owned or partnered in many business ventures prior, gaining experience in fields as diverse as textile manufacturing, graphic design, radio broadcasting, technical writing, long-range wireless networking, audio engineering, web publishing and embedded systems design.
