Mr. Gormly is responsible for a wide diversity of activities for Oltmans Construction Co., ranging from the vital area of Business Development (including sales and marketing), to Estimating and Field Operations. In all, Mr. Gormly oversees the activities of approximately 100 people. In these capacities, Mr. Gormly oversees and coordinates the needs of both corporate and developer clients, stays at the cutting edge of a dynamic and ever-changing marketplace for business opportunities, is current with all the components constituting the vital area of construction costs, and directs the company's diverse marketing programs. Mr. Gormly also plays a central role in contract negotiations and budget estimating. A member of the design development team for most projects, he has a hand in budget estimates, final estimates, and the preparation of cost analyses and value engineering information. Significantly, he plays a leading role in projects throughout contract preparations and on to completion. After graduating from the California State University at Long Beach, Mr. Gormly joined Oltmans Construction Co. in 1975 as an Estimator Trainee, later becoming a full-charge Estimator. Subsequently, he was named Project Manager and assumed major sales responsibility for the company, he became a Vice President in 1988 and was appointed President in 2003. Mr. Gormly's expertise in a variety of modern construction disciplines has led him to share this knowledge with business and civic organizations. He has taught construction management courses and lectured at UCLA. Additionally, he served on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Chapter, National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, the Newport Mesa Unified School District Citizens Oversight Committee, and has spoken at various leading industry organizations, including the Appraisers Institute, on the advantages of concrete tilt-up construction. Mr. Gormly holds contractors licenses in the States of California, Arizona and Nevada.
