Feddock, P.E., a Senior Vice President with 39 years experience, is responsible for the Lexington, Kentucky Branch Office. He is the coordinator of mining engineering projects and also serves as the principal investigator in mineral economic and mining geotechnical projects. Mr. Feddock.s consulting background includes projects in both surface and underground mines in the coal and stone industries. His many underground projects involve mine planning and entry layout, longwall applications, subsidence prediction and control, productivity analysis and prediction, continuous miner and longwall equipment applications, roof support analysis, and coal pillar sizing. His surface-related projects include mine planning, mountaintop removal, blasting damage, groundwater and hydrologic impacts, environmental site assessments, productivity analysis and prediction, and highwall stability analysis. Mr. Feddock.s knowledge of discounted cash flow and rate of return analysis; equipment and facility investment requirements; valuation of property, plant, equipment, and reserves; mine operating cost forecasting and analysis; and mine feasibility studies aid in the coordination of mineral economics projects. In addition, Mr. Feddock draws on his experience as engineering manager for two major coal companies in analyzing situations and recommending cost-effective and practical solutions to the unique problems mining companies face in the complex reserves and political climate. He is recognized as an expert witness in both state and federal courts, and his clients include mining companies, banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, insurance adjusters, and electric utility companies.
