John A. Blaisdell Mr. Blaisdell is a Managing Director and a Founding Partner of Salient Partners, LP, a diversified wealth advisory and asset management firm based in Houston Texas advising on over $8 billion in assets for high net worth individuals, families and institutions. Mr. Blaisdell served as the Managing Partner of Salient from 2004 thru January 1, 2009. Salient Partners was recognized as one of the fastest growing wealth advisory and asset management firms by the Houston Business Journal. Mr. Blaisdell is a member of the Salient Board of Managers and currently provides wealth advisory services to the larger family offices clients and institutions. Prior to joining Salient in December 2002, Mr. Blaisdell served as CEO of a large private investment holding company for a high-net-worth Texas family from 1997 to December 2002. As CEO, he was responsible for managing a billion dollar portfolio of private and publicly traded assets for the benefit of the family including equities, fixed income, real estate, alternative investments, early and latter stage venture investments, and operating companies. In addition, Mr. Blaisdell coordinated the internal and external wealth management resources including asset, banking and financial, legal, tax, trust and estate, and investment advisers. Prior to that, Mr. Blaisdell was a Partner, President and COO of Leisure Management International ("LMI"), a Houston based company owned in partnership with the Huizenga Holdings, Inc. and other well known Houston investors, which under his leadership grew to become a global player and one of the industry leaders in the management of sports and entertainment facilities around the world. LMI was a facility management company (operations $250 million) specializing in the contract management, marketing, and operation of arenas, stadiums, and convention centers, and other public assembly facilities for public and private clients. Mr. Blaisdell also advised high net worth families on sports franchise acquisitions and dispositions and municipal governments on lease negotiations with such franchises. The Company was sold to SMG, a joint venture of ARAMARK and the Pritzker family in 2000. Prior to joining LMI, Mr. Blaisdell was the Executive Director and CEO of the Miami Sports & Exhibition Authority. MSEA is an independent and autonomous agency of the City of Miami (operations $100 million) established to facilitate and promote the development of sports, entertainment, convention, and performing arts facilities in the City. As CEO, responsibilities included planning and development processes for various large scale development projects, negotiation of project financing (public and private), and managed efforts to successfully attract and retain professional sports franchises in the City. Prior to the MSEA, Mr. Blaisdell held various key positions within the public and private sectors focusing on large complex joint development projects in the South Florida area completing over $400 million of large scale residential, commercial, and entertainment projects . Mr. Blaisdell is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Houston Ballet and has served on the Board of Directors of many other public, private and charitable organizations in Florida, Texas, and New Mexico. Mr. Blaisdell received a B.S. from Barry University in 1983 and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Miami in 1987.
