Jim Neiger is a principal of Essex Realty Management, Inc., and Essex Properties. As President of Essex Realty Management, he is responsible for all property management, asset management, and consulting functions. Additionally, as a principal with Essex Properties, Mr. Neiger is responsible for spearheading the asset management functions for Essex Properties, as well as assisting with the acquisition and underwriting. Mr. Neiger has over twenty years of commercial management and leasing experience. During his career, he has been involved in the asset and property management of all product types including office, industrial, retail, medical, auto center, apartment, and common area associations. Prior to joining Essex, Mr. Neiger was a senior manager for the Koll Company with responsibilities for overseeing a variety of properties for numerous clients. During those five years, he oversaw approximately 1.5 million square feet of office and industrial projects and managed a staff of eleven people. His clients included The Irvine Company, Teachers Insurance and Annuity of America, Grubb & Ellis Realty Advisors, Aetna Realty Advisors, The City of Irvine, The Santa Margarita Company, Hart Advisors, and Property Reserve, Inc. During the previous four-year period, Mr. Neiger was an asset manager for Jerico Management Company and Southport Financial Corporation, both based in Los Angeles. Responsibilities included leasing, financial reporting, and property management on a varied portfolio of offices, industrial, and R & D projects while attending graduate school. Mr. Neiger holds a Masters Degree in Real Estate from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from the University of California at Los Angeles. He is a licensed Real Estate Salesman in the State of California. He is also a Certified Property Manager, as designated by the Institute of Real Estate Management.
