Jeffrey P. Molever has been meeting the legal needs of clients since 1982. Mr. Molever's tax planning experience as a CPA and as an attorney, coupled with his Masters Degree (LL.M.) in Taxation, helps him provide clients with valuable expertise in planning for their future. As he reminds us, "Tax issues are often the driving force behind many estate planning goals. Attorneys should have a strong background in the various tax laws to provide full estate planning service to their clients. However, many non-tax issues are present in virtually every estate planning situation." Mr. Molever helps his clients avoid the time delays and expenses of probate, protect their assets from taxes, creditors, and lawsuits and provide for the security of their loved ones by designing well-crafted estate plans. Mr. Molever has spoken on estate planning and tax planning topics at national and statewide conferences. He has spoken at the National Conference of the American Association of Attorney-CPAs in Banff and Calgary, Canada, and at the Minnesota CPA Estate and Personal Financial Planning Conference. He regularly presents seminars for the public as well as private groups. Experience Mr. Molever honed his accounting skills at an international accounting firm and practiced estate planning at topnotch law firms. Before opening The Molever Law Firm, Mr. Molever was a shareholder in a medium-sized Minneapolis law firm. Mr. Molever has considerable estate tax planning experience with estates valued at $50,000 to $50 million. Mr. Molever now focuses his practice on estate planning and tax planning. Mr. Molever is admitted to practice in the United States Tax Court. He is licensed to practice law in both Minnesota and California. He is also a member of the American Association of Attorney-CPAs and the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. Mr. Molever has acquired a Series 7 Securities license and his life insurance license. In a study by Law & Politics Magazine, Mr. Molever has been selected as a Super Lawyer (i.e., in the top five percent of Minnesota attorneys in the area of Estate Planning and Probate) every year since 2006. Also, the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys announced that Mr. Molever was honored with the Academy Fellow designation. The Fellow program recognizes Academy Members who demonstrate advanced expertise and significant practical experience in the estate planning, trust, tax planning, guardianship, probate and estate administration fields. Education Mr. Molever completed his undergraduate work in the College of Business Administration at Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and his LL.M. in Taxation with Honors from the Washington School of Law (Washington Institute for Graduate Studies). He also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Washington School of Law. Personal Jeff and his wife Cathy are the proud parents of a daughter and a son. When Mr. Molever is not practicing law, he can sometimes be found on the golf course. An avid golfer (he still carries a single digit handicap), his other leisure-time activities include spending time with family, reading, hiking and rooting for his (hometown) Pittsburgh Steelers. Mr. Molever has also been involved in charity and community work. He served on the Board of Directors of a chapter of the Arthritis Foundation for eight years and was Chairman of that chapter's Planned Giving committee. He has also volunteered his time for the American Heart Association and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. He previously volunteered his time to coach baseball and basketball in youth leagues in the Twin Cities, and he is currently involved in a local men's club service organization.
