As Director of Design at HKGi, Jeff plays a leadership role in the design of many of the firm's projects. His accomplished career as a landscape architect and urban designer has been developed with over twenty years of experience on a variety of urban, public space, resort, community and campus planning and design projects. He brings superb design talents and sensibilities to the task of place-making in urban environments and has enhanced his skills by studying firsthand the planning and design of great cities and public spaces throughout the world. Jeff is highly regarded by clients and his professional peers for the ability to bring creative solutions to complex planning and design projects. He has led the design and planning of several award winning projects during his career, including UMore Park Concept Master Plan, a 5,000-acre master plan for a new sustainable community located in Dakota County, Minnesota, Riverfront Park, a 65-acre mixed-use brownfield development located in Denver, Colorado, and Kierland Commons, a 40-acre mixed-use town center located in Phoenix, Arizona. Jeff is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and serves as a member of the Minnesota ULI Programs Committee. He continues to stay involved as an instructor, juror and mentor with the University of Minnesota's College of Design, where he earned a Bachelor's of Landscape Architecture in 1989. In 2001, Jeff continued his education at the University of Colorado at Denver, Graduate School of Architecture and Planning, where he studied Urban Design and Regional Planning.
