Jim Prichard is a member of the firm's construction and litigation groups. His practice emphasizes construction law, surety law, and bankruptcy litigation. He represents owners, design professionals, contractors, and material suppliers in mediations, arbitrations, trials, and appeals, and is often called on to assist clients in resolving time-sensitive disputes that arise during the course of construction on large projects. Mr. Prichard has successfully resolved several multi-million dollar construction disputes. He represents developers, owners, and contractors in prosecuting and defending design and construction defect claims. Mr. Prichard also represents material suppliers, contractors, and owners in prosecuting and defending payment claims, including construction lien and surety bond claims. In addition to the foregoing, Mr. Prichard handles cases in the areas of public contract law, insurance recovery, construction cost overruns, bankruptcy, and real estate. Mr. Prichard has authored articles on construction and surety law, and is a frequent speaker at continuing education seminars, organization meetings, and professional conferences. He graduated from the University of Oregon (B.S., magna cum laude, in Political Science and Psychology). After completing a graduate fellowship at Indiana University, Mr. Prichard earned his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law. Mr. Prichard is admitted in all state and federal courts in Oregon, Washington, and California.
