Mr. Gunnar Gooding likes to be challenged. This is clearly illustrated in his decision to switch mid-career from his expertise in law and human resources to the new areas of operations and sales. Gunnar is responsible for driving revenue, conducting business, and ensuring profitability for Select through a large area of the United States. He oversees much of the commercial staffing operations in Southern California, as well as regions in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. In total, Gunnar's regions have annual revenues in excess of $400 million. Throughout his regions, Gunnar seeks to generate double-digit growth for each branch, enhance productivity ratios, and ensure operational efficiencies through continuous improvement and careful measurement. He accomplishes these goals through a collaborative management style based on open communication and personal accountability. Upon joining Select, Gunnar was instrumental in the 2006 integration of RemedyTemp, Inc., a national, publicly traded staffing company. As Select expands its national footprint through acquisitions, Gunnar is heavily involved in ongoing acquisition-related activities to ensure synergies are achieved and integration is smooth. While at Remedy, Gunnar served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Legal Affairs where he oversaw the Legal, Human Resources, and Training functions. Prior to that, he served as Remedy's General Counsel and was responsible for managing the company's litigation and all employment law issues. In 2001 Gunnar received the Redwood Award, given by the Chairman of the Board, which was Remedy's highest and most prestigious honor given to the colleague who symbolizes Remedy's spirit of striving for perfection. Prior to joining Remedy, Gunnar worked at the international law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP, where he specialized in employment litigation. He defended clients in a variety of unfair competition, discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and sexual harassment matters in the State, Federal, and Appellate Courts. He also counseled clients on employment-related issues affecting their businesses. Gunnar graduated from the University of California at Berkeley where he majored in English and History. He received his law degree from the University of Southern California Law Center, where he served as Executive Articles Editor for the Law Review. Gunnar has always been heavily involved in various charitable organizations. He currently serves as president of the board of directors of a leading nonprofit that provides services and support for kids with disabilities; he is also on the board of directors of a local soccer club. Gunnar lives in Newport Beach, California with his wife and three children.
